The ImmunoComb VacciCheck® Antibody Test Kit from Biogal monitors serological status, reduces vaccination failure and prevents over vaccination consequences for dogs and cats.

Features

  • Recommended by WSAVA - VacciCheck UK Paper
  • Annual health and titre check
  • Reduce over and under-vaccination
  • Monitor disease outbreak
  • Results in 21 minutes
  • The only semi quantitative kit in the market
  • Solid phase "dot" ELISA
  • Quick and simple to use
  • Three diseases in just one test

The ImmunoComb VacciCheck is a user-friendly, in-practice kit which tests for antibody titres to the three core infections:

Feline

  • Feline Panleukopenia (FPLV)
  • Feline Herpes Virus (FHV)
  • Feline Calicivirus (FCV)

Canine

  • Infectious Canine Hepatitis (ICH)
  • Canine Parvovirus (CPV)
  • Canine Distemper Virus (CDV)

Results which determine whether an individual dog or cat still has immunity to these core diseases are provided within 21 minutes. Measuring antibody levels helps determine when the puppy vaccine series can be ended.

Serology testing is useful after a dog or cat vaccination to indicate whether immunisation was achieved successfully and as a result the vaccine programmes can be modified for the individual animal.

Recommended By the WSAVA

The VacciCheck titre test for dogs and cats is a simple blood test that tests for circulating anti-bodies. If anti-bodies are present, the dog/cat is immune to the core diseases and revaccination (with core vaccines) is not required.

New WSAVA guidelines recommend a titre test once a year rather than routinely giving dogs/cats a booster. If an animal is immune, an extra booster at this point would be surplus to requirements and wouldn’t provide any additional immunity.

The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) has issued guidelines to veterinary surgeons and dog owners which aim to ensure that dogs are protected from infectious disease while reducing the number of vaccines that are given routinely. Full guidelines are available at this link: https://wsava.org/global-guidelines/vaccination-guidelines/

Vaccination Guidelines

These guidelines state that VacciCheck should be used for the following indications:

  • VacciCheck can be used to determine whether a puppy has responded to vaccination. VacciCheck can inform decision making as to whether an adult dog that has suffered a suspected adverse event post vaccination requires core vaccine boosters in the future
  • VacciCheck testing of newly adopted adult dogs of unknown vaccination history can also determine whether the animal is protected or requires vaccination
  • VacciCheck INSTEAD of automatic triennial core revaccination for adult dogs. Seropositive dogs do not require revaccination as they are already protected
  • VacciCheck also has a major role to play in the management of infectious disease (CPV and CPV) outbreaks in canine shelters

Ensure your vet practice complies with the new WSAVA guidelines for vaccination by using the VacciCheck Kit

The VacciCheck titre test for dogs and cats is described by Professor Ronald Schultz as “a cost effective, user friendly and expedient titre test”. For shelter hepatitis, parvo or distemper outbreaks, VacciCheck rapidly and cheaply tests populations that are susceptible to or protected from these diseases. This allows many animals to live, that might otherwise have been euthanised.
