| The E.R.D.-HealthScreen® Urine Tests detect small amounts of albumin in the urine ("microalbuminuria"). Microalbumin (MA) has been clinically defined as levels of albumin in the urine grater than normal (1mg/dL) and less than overt protenuria (30mg/dL) at a standardised specific gravity of 1.010. |
Conventional urine tests (urine specific gravity, BUN, creatinine) don't detect kidney damage until - 75% of kidney function is lost.
NOW YOU CAN DETECT EVEN SMALL AMOUNTS OF KIDNEY DAMAGE - EARLIER.
Benefits:
- Detects albumin at a sensitivity of up to 30 times higher than conventional dipsticks.
- Alterts you to the presence of kidney damage that could be caused by many common inflammatory, infectious, metabolic and neoplastic diseases.
- Excellent monitoring tool that indicates the severity of disease, treatment success and progression of kidney damage.
Features:
- Quick results in less than 5 minutes, allowing additional blood/urine sampling if needed while the patient is still present.
- Extremely accurate - no false results.
- Semi-quantitative. Shows negative, low, medium, high and very high positive test results.
When should you use the test?
- Breeds at risk for hereditary / familial renal disease (early age).
- Part of a prophylactic health maintenance program.
- Dogs greater than 6 years old.
- Cats greater than 8 years old.
- Anytime you have reason to evaluate a CBC, serum biochemistry profile, and UA follow up as indicated by previous results.
