QBC Tubes

A wide range of tubes for QBC® haematology systems.

QBC Tubes work with the QBC STAR and the QBC Autoread Plus to deliver a unique patented dry haematology approach that sets them apart from competing products.

QBC Tubes, which include tubes such as the STAR Tube and the AccuTube, contain staining reagents on the inside of the tube, as well as a precision plastic float designed to separate the white blood cell layers (the Buffy Coat), to achieve this technological breakthrough.

Collection and Analysis

QBC Haematology Systems can change the way you collect and analyse samples. The difference lies in the QBC Tubes. The QBC Tubes are internally coated with all the necessary reagents including acridine orange fluorochrome stain and anticoagulants (with the exception of the QBC Venous Tube). Both the QBC STAR and QBC Autoread Plus systems are flexible enough to use either venous or capillary blood samples. A precision float is inserted into each tube to expand the Buffy Coat (white blood cells and platelets). After the sample is collected in the QBC Tube, it is centrifuged at 11,000-12,000 RPM for 5 minutes (either internally in the QBC STAR or in the external centrifuge of the QBC Autoread Plus). This separates blood cells into bands based on density allowing for the measurement of the haematology parameters taking just 2 minutes.
